As the Peakon engineering team grows, we are looking for an experienced engineering leader to take on the role of Engineering Manager in London. The majority of the existing engineering team is based in our Copenhagen office, and your key imperative will be to expand the team to have a significant presence in our London office by the end of your first year at the company. This will include hiring, on-boarding, growing and supporting all new and current team members. You will be responsible for the overall execution of the product vision by your team, and work closely with them to prioritize efforts, facilitate collaboration, and remove obstacles in order to deliver a product of the highest quality in time.
In addition to supporting the team, you will be contributing code regularly and participate in the day to day work by providing constructive feedback, participating in code reviews and architectural discussions regarding new features and products.
You will be reporting directly to the Peakon CTO and staying ahead of technical and organization challenges. You will be part of the engineering leadership team and collaborate with other directors and managers to define engineering strategy, allocate resources and plan for long term team needs.
As an Engineering Manager, you will work closely with department leaders across the business, as well as senior management, to provide technical guidance and support.

You are a great communicator, and are able to clearly articulate how processes and structures can support the team’s everyday work.
You have a keen sense of business and are able to communicate effectively with other departments on engineering related topics.

- Experience working with small-to-medium size cross-functional teams in an agile environment
- Experience recruiting and scaling teams in a sustainable way
- Experience in budgeting/forecasting for future team growth and resource needs
- Experience designing and implementing complex web applications
- Empathetic and open-minded, able to adapt your leadership style to the individual and task at hand
- A strong sense of how tooling, best practices and process can support and empower engineers in delivering software

We rely on automated testing on all levels of the application, with thousands of tests checking every commit to our codebase. We use CircleCI for hosted continuous integration and we deploy to our production environment daily.
